Vineyard City has selected Christopher “Chip” Price, to fill the City Council seat left vacant following the resignation of Councilmember Ezra Nair.
The City Council voted to appoint Price during its Sept. 15 meeting after interviewing four candidates who applied for the open seat. The other applicants were David Pearce, Jesse Sandstrom and Laureana Lazarte.
Price will officially join the council after he is sworn in at a later date.
The vacancy followed Nair’s announcement that he would resign from the council. Nair, who previously served as a member of the council, thanked the community and his fellow councilmembers following his decision to step away from the position.
In announcing Price’s selection, Vineyard City also recognized Nair for his service and wished him well as he moves on from his role.
The appointment process gave the council an opportunity to hear from each applicant before selecting Price to complete the remainder of the vacant seat’s term.
