As summer winds down, Vineyard City is inviting families to celebrate the season with an afternoon of water games, activities, and treats at its annual Back-to-School Water Party.
The free community event will take place today, Thursday, Aug. 6, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Vineyard Grove Park. Residents of all ages are invited to attend and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities before students head back to school.
This year’s event will feature a 32-foot slip-and-slide race, a dunk tank hosted by the Sheriff’s Office, ice cream, and 1,000 water balloons for games and activities throughout the afternoon.
Additional activities include a squishy water ball toss, water balloon volleyball, a water balloon toss, a pop-the-water-balloon relay, water balloon musical chairs, a water balloon spoon race, a pick-a-duck game, and a candy cannon.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a towel and wear clothing or a swimsuit that can get wet.
The Back-to-School Water Party is free to attend and is designed to give families an opportunity to celebrate the end of summer, connect with neighbors, and enjoy an afternoon of outdoor fun before the new school year begins.
