As the vibrant greens of summer fade into the warm hues of autumn, there’s a certain magic in the air. Crisp breezes whisper through the trees, and the scent of cinnamon and spice begins to permeate local shops. For many, fall in Vineyard means one thing: pumpkin patches and corn mazes. Luckily, our community is just a short drive from some fantastic options for crafting that perfect fall day.

Whether you’re seeking the ideal jack-o’-lantern, a thrilling journey through towering stalks, or simply a festive family outing, our local farms have you covered. Here’s a guide to some of the best spots to embrace the autumn spirit.

Finding Your Perfect Pumpkin

For those in pursuit of the quintessential pumpkin, you don’t have to travel far. The Pumpkin Patch, located just minutes away in Orem, offers a classic and affordable experience. It’s the perfect spot to let the kids run through the vines and find their favorite pumpkin without the overwhelming crowds of larger venues.

For a full farm experience, head to Hee Haw Farms in Pleasant Grove, about a 10-15 minute drive from Vineyard. Their sprawling patch has pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, and you can make a day of it with their hayrides, petting farm, and giant slides. It’s a local favorite for a reason! Most farms open for the season in late September.

Getting Lost in the Fun

No fall adventure is complete without navigating a corn maze. For the ultimate maze experience, Cornbelly’s at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi is a must-visit, located about a 15-20 minute drive away. They feature an intricate, professionally designed maze that changes every year, along with dozens of other attractions, rides, and food. They even offer a haunted version for an extra spooky twist!

For a fantastic family-friendly maze, Glen Ray’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Spanish Fork is a great choice, about a 20-25 minute drive south. Their maze is designed with fun twists and turns for all ages. Afterwards, kids can enjoy the play area and slides, making it a wonderful and complete fall outing.

Planning Your Perfect Day

To make the most of your fall outing, here are a few tips:

  • Check the weather: Dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking in fields.
  • Go early: Beat the crowds, especially on weekends. Many farms now use online ticketing for specific time slots.
  • Bring cash: While most larger venues accept cards, some smaller vendors may not.
  • Don’t forget the camera: Capture those picture-perfect fall moments!

Embrace the beauty of the season and create lasting memories with a visit to our wonderful local pumpkin patches and corn mazes. Happy fall, Vineyard!
